SEPURAN® Green, a hollow fiber membrane made of Evonik’s own polymer materials, is well suitable for biogas upgrading with very high selectivity of CO2/CH4 (enrich biomethane).
Very high CO2/CH4 selectivity
Lower energy consumption, Lower space requirements and shorter installation times
Continuous spearation process
Simple to operate and instantaneous effect
Flexible and easily scaleable (can be used for small plants as well as large ones)
Biogas is formed by fermentation in which microorganisms anaerobically decompose biomass. Crude biogas contains 55-65% methane, 30-45% carbon dioxide, and trace gases such as hydrogen sulfide. These impurities must be removed from methane. The biomethane so produced is fed into the natural gas grid and the consumer receives an eco-friendly, carbon-neutral gas. SEPURAN® Green membrane is well suited for this biogas upgrading with its higher selectivity and better economical benefit than other separation technologies.
