- Daicel-Evonik’s ESD grade PEEK resin VESTAKEEP-J has been first adopted for Japan’s first injection-molded ESD bolts
NEWRelease2016.07.13Daicel-Evonik’s ESD grade PEEK resin VESTAKEEP-J has been first adopted for Japan’s first injection-molded ESD bolts
The ESD (electrostatic discharge) grade PEEK resin VESTAKEEP®-J from Daicel-Evonik Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Andre Noppe) has been adopted by Nippon Chemical Screw & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President: Mr. Fumio Hanji) for use in their ESD bolts.
Conventionally, ESD bolts had been formed by cutting work, but the bolt produced from this VESTAKEEP®-J resin is Japan’s first bolt manufactured by injection-molding process, which enables significant reduction of man-hours. This technique can be applied to manufacturing very small-sized products such as micro bolts up to M1.2 x 1.5 mm, as well as semiconductor manufacturing equipment and electronic mobile equipment. In addition, as this product has excellent chemical resistance and low outgas property, Daicel-Evonik aims to expand its use into food industry equipment.
[Properties of the bolts made from ESD grade VESTAKEEP®-J]
1. Excellent antistatic / conductivity
2. Shrinkability equivalent to that of common PEEK resins in molding
3. Excellent Machinability
4. Excellent resistance to chemicals
5. Light weight
At Daicel-Evonik we aim to raise our reliability even further, and will continue to provide tailored technical support to customers.
* PEEK is the official abbreviation for Polyether Ether Ketone (ISO1043).
