Changes in the company name of Polyplastics-Evonik
Daicel Hüls was established in 1970 as a joint venture between Daicel Corporation and Hüls AG ,now Evonik AG of Germany, and later changed its name to Polyplastics-Evonik as the parent companies changed their names.
With more than 50 years of history and growth, the company has developed a full portfolio of high-performance and value-added products, including polyamide 12, rubber and polyamide composite sheets, transparent polyamides, transparent polyamide-based polarizing sheets, PEEK, monomers, separation membranes, and rigid foams.

March 2002 | Japan Water Works Association (JWWA) certified diamid coating powder for "nylon coated powder resin paint for steel pipes" |
July 2002 | One compounding line will be completely renewed at the Aboshi Plant to strengthen the facility Import and sales of C12 & C8 compounds inherited from Degusa Japan, now Evonik Japan |
February 2003 | Update from ISO9002 to ISO9001 |
December 2003 | Shares are transferred from the German parent company Degusa to the company's Japan subsidiary Degusa JapanAs a result, we became a joint venture between Daicel Chemical Industry (50%) and Degusa Japan (50%) |
April 2007 | Started full-scale sales of PEEK resin VESTAKEEP® |
January 2008 | With the name change of Evonik Degussa, the company name was changed from Daicel Degusa to Daicel-Evonik. |
January 2010 | Inherited the film & foam business from Evonik Degusa Japan |
April 2019 | Introduction of a multi-layer tube extruder at the Aboshi plant |
December 2021 | Daicel Corporation transferred its share interest to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Polyplastics Co., Ltd. |
April 2022 | Changed the company name from Daicel-Evonik to Polyplastics-Evonik. |
December 2023 | PEEK resin VESTAKEEP® Dental Grade for use in molars was covered by insurance. |
